Bourbon & Blues is the second part of Hans Offringa’s Drinks & Music trilogy. Parts one and three are Malts & Jazz and Rum & Reggae.
Hans begins this entertaining book with a brief history of bourbon followed by a history of blues music, which he takes back to America’s early years. By melding a bourbon distillery of today with a famous blues musician, he tells the history of this iconic American whiskey and the artistry of this uniquely American music in an entertaining manner.
Jim Rutledge, Master Distiller Emeritus of Four Roses wrote the foreword and had this to say at the book launch during the Kentucky Bourbon Festival: “After reading the first page it will be difficult for a reader to lay the book down before the last word has been absorbed.”
Hans was honoured for this book and his work for the state of Kentucky by being named to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels at the recommendation of the Kentucky Distillers Association.
Available both in paperback (224 pages) and Kindle (full colour) versions.
